My wife and I lived down the road near Turnpike Lane station for the last five years and really enjoyed it. We had lovely neighbors, and never had a problem. So, when we were forced to move we decided to try to stay near the area. We found a lovely house on Moselle Ave. and moved in in October. I have to admit though, since we moved in I haven't exactly loved it. There's a lot of fly tipping near our house, I've been hounded by gypsies around the laundromat, there always seems to be something going down on Vincent Road, shady people sitting in cars in front of our house for hours at night, and we came back after Christmas to find we had been burgled!

I'm trying to stay positive, and it would really help to meet a few friendly faces around here. Anyone fancy a coffee or something?
Who is Anne Hegerty?
Although I've lived in the UK a lifetime, I am still required to expose my whole life's ins and outs to the home office, including dates I have been away from the UK (holidays/work trips over 30 yrs!), do an English test, answer questions about this and that.. if I 'intend to stay here' - and then 'hope I will be given a 'yes') etc. :-(

Just needed to post something about this as its starting to really wind me up.

I happened to pass someone dumping black bins tonight behind the barbers on Lordship Lane/Salisbury Rd and confronted them. What I learned surprised me to say the least...

The man concerned was a little intimidated by me confronting him and genuinely appeared surprised when I explained that flytipping is a crime.

He was Eastern European and I think lived on Lordship Lane itself. He explained his landlord had told him to leave his rubbish on the streets of Noel Park and that this was the correct thing to do. He didn't try to defend his actions, he explained he didn't have a wheely bin and felt he had no other choice but to flytip.

At first our chat was quite heated but I ended up feeling sorry for him, I now wonder how many people (perhaps through no fault of their own?) do not realise what is and isn't acceptable in terms of rubbish dumping?

I lived abroad a few years ago, and had it not been for the kind help of neighbours I would have been completely lost when it came to rubbish collections.

Perhaps part of the solution is better communication? After all, if you were new to the area how would you have a clue what to do?
More public bins for Noel Park...?tag:noelparknet.ning.com,2014-04-23:6570429:Topic:110042014-04-23T08:10:26.554ZLaura Molehttps://noelparknet.ning.com/profile/LauraMole

I am looking after my sisters dog this week and have to take him for a walk twice a day. Obviously he creates some "smelly rubbish" that I need to put in a bin, but I am noticing the distinct lack of public bins in Noel Park

I would hate to put my dogs poo in someones private bin on my way past. When I did find a public bin (by the Primary School) it was full.

It wouldn't hurt to have a couple more bins around, then maybe people would be less inclined to litter.

Has anyone else noticed this? What do you think?
Italian Restaurant in Wood Green!!!! Happy Daystag:noelparknet.ning.com,2014-03-21:6570429:Topic:98832014-03-21T11:42:06.485ZLaura Molehttps://noelparknet.ning.com/profile/LauraMole

Dear all

Has anyone on here had their front wall rebuilt - and if so, how much did it cost?

Mine needs a radical overhaul and just wanted to get a handle on the going rate. Any guidance would be appreciated.

Thanks!
