Since then we have been working on potential route alignments, station locations and branch options.

Following feedback we have revised proposals for the route through Chelsea, Dalston, Hackney and New Southgate.

From Monday 9 June we will be consulting again, on proposed changes along the route at these locations. These are:

The location of a station in Chelsea

An extension from Alexandra Palace to New Southgate

The route alignment in Dalston and Hackney

To have your say on our proposals, visit the TfL consultation website. The consultation closes on Friday 25 July.

As part of the consultation, we will be hosting local drop-in sessions in Chelsea, Dalston and Hackney. Officers from Transport for London and Network Rail will be on hand to answer any questions about the project and what we are proposing in your area.

What is safeguarding?

The safeguarding for the route will be updated in 2015 by the Department for Transport, supported by Transport for London. Safeguarding is the statutory process of protecting a particular location from significant adverse development. We need to safeguard the route so that other developments do not affect the construction and operations of the railway.

Safeguarding does not set out exactly where the track will be laid, but protects a corridor in which we can build it.

Further consultation will occur before the route alignment and station locations are finalised.

Haringey Council has set up a Cycling and Walking Study and has appointed consultants to carry it out. They are running a community street audit of Wood Green tomorrow (Wednesday) meeting outside Wood Green underground station at 2pm. If you would like to take part you would be very welcome. You could just turn up but it would be helpful if you would let the organisers know in advance. The contact is Edwin Leigh who can be reached on 020 8489 1492.
