Bernie Grant Arts Centre
To Haringey's Residents Associations..
Please let me take this opportunity to introduce the Bernie Grant Arts Centre to your organisation. Hopefully we will be able to keep you informed as to what the centre's activities are in the future. Local residents are hugely important to the centre, as it was created to showcase local talent and also to bring high quality theatre to the area. We're also interested to hear what residents in the Borough think as well and hope that Residents Associations would be able to help shape the future of the centre by letting us know what they would like from the centre in the future.
Coming events at the BGAC:
The centre hosts a wide range of outstanding performances. Currently it is showing Charlie and Lola’s Best Bestest Play this December which is a magical family show. As part of the centre’s commitment to local residents, the BGAC is extending a special offer of two free adult tickets for every ten children’s tickets bought to families in the local area. If you were interested in taking up this offer, then you would need to call the box office on 020 8365 5450.
About the BGAC
The Centre was set up to be accessible to all in order to showcase the best local talent as well as to bring high quality theatre to Tottenham.
Built on the site of Edwardian swimming baths although retaining the red-brick Portland stone front, the centre was designed in a modern but unassuming way by David Adjaye OBE who said the centre “enables the development of local people and brings to the area a pot pourri of entertainment.” The major performance space is at its heart, with enterprise units, the Blooming Scent Café and offices leading from it. Its design allows the centre to host a range of artistic forms from dance to painting.
