Received this info from the Lib Dems:
I don't like partisan politics but this has some useful info that I haven't received from any other source. Consider the source, so I don't know if it's 100 per cent accurate, but if anyone is interested in keeping track of planning applications in the neighbourhood it's certainly worth registering for the online service.
Haringey Council is scrapping letters informing local residents about planning applications near their home.
Previously, residents would receive a letter saying that a planning application had been made nearby. From 1 September HaringeyCouncill will only be sending these letters to ‘directly involved parties’ (usually people within the same building), and not to nearby neighbours and people in the surrounding areas.
Locals can register to receive notifications about planning applications via either the Haringey website, using this link or via the Haringey Notiz mobile app for Apple iOS or Android devices. We recommend that you use one of these options to remain informed.
This was a genuine proposal, but thankfully, this decision has now been reversed.
(Non-partisan here as well, but it just felt like the wrong cost-saving measure, in the wrong department, at the wrong time, so I'm glad they saw sense...)
Excellent! Thanks for letting me know.
