Bags of Taste Offering free cooking course (including ingredients) to Haringey residents

It’s Henrietta from Bags of Taste. Our free budget cooking courses across Haringey are now taking registrations and referrals for September and October. Participants that you refer will get a free bag of ingredients and recipes, with enough food to prepare seven meals. Our courses are taught by mentors in friendly and supportive small online groups – we also offer one-to-one support.

Our courses help people to

  • become more confident in the kitchen
  • learn to cook more healthily
  • learn to cook on a budget
  • expand their repertoire of recipes and explore new cuisines
  • make new friends

About the course

On registration, we deliver a free bag of ingredients sufficient to cook 7 portions at home. We provide personal mentoring via Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp, email or phone to teach students useful cooking skills based around 3 simple recipes that allow for a lot of variation and can be made for less than £1 a portion.

Groups are kept small to help students form supportive relationships with each other, while the mentor can offer emotional support and befriending. If the student doesn't have access to the internet we can provide one-to-one mentoring over the phone. On finishing the 2-week course, we provide online or offline resources to further students' development and learning.

Our online courses run on a rolling weekly basis and learning is done at the pace that best fits the student.

How to register

Please contact us if you know someone who would benefit from our course. You are welcome to use the attached e-flyer to spread the word.
